Amanda Seyfried Plays With Textural Tension in Aquazzura’s Woven Platforms and a Ruffle-accent Gown at the Gotham Awards

The full swing of awards season may just be a few weeks away, but the early carpet circuit is already building momentum — and Amanda Seyfried added to it on Monday night with a platform-heavy moment at the 35th Gotham Film Awards in New York. The actress arrived at Cipriani Wall Street in Aquazzura’s metallic-woven sandals.

Seyfried wore the label’s Nina Plateau 130, a style shaped from woven metallic straps that knot across the forefoot and sit on a substantial platform base. The construction keeps the weave tight through the upper, then widens slightly across the block platform, giving the shoe its stacked profile. While this specific 130mm version is currently found on resale sites, Aquazzura continues to carry the Nina line, including an 85mm sandal available in white.

She paired the platforms with an Alessandro Michele Valentino dress from the label’s spring 2026 collection. The long-sleeved black gown featured a deep V neckline, marked by a frilled pink appliqué that swept across the bodice diagonally and sat above a thigh-high slit. Between the frills up top and the woven metallic platform below, the outfit carried textural tension.

She finished the look with Tiffany & Co.’s Bird on a Rock Lovebirds ring and matching earrings in platinum and gold. Elizabeth Stewart, who also works with the likes of Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Olsen, styled the outfit.

Seyfried has played with texture when it comes to her shoes in the past, too. Last month, she returned to her favored Miu Miu penny loafers for an event at London’s BFI Southbank — a silhouette she has worn repeatedly across festivals and press stops. In October, she stepped onto the London Film Festival carpet in another Aquazzura platform, choosing the Be Mine style to accompany a Richard Quinn dress.

Aquazzura itself has remained visible this season beyond footwear. In November, the brand expanded its Aquazzura Casa home line through a collaboration with Tuscany’s Collegio alla Querce retreat, introducing botanical-inspired tableware to the hotel’s afternoon tea and brunch services.

The Gotham Awards marked one of the season’s early stops for independent film, with Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” taking Best Feature. Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi earned three awards for “It Was Just an Accident,” including Best Director and Best International Feature, while Sopé Dìrísù and Wunmi Mosaku were recognized for outstanding lead and supporting performances.
