Better rain chance today, then drier through weekend
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We are tracking downpours coming off the Gulf of Mexico this morning. The rain chance increases to 40% during the afternoon as the storms drift to the southeast. Showers taper off quickly around sunset.
Drier air arrives for Friday and the weekend. We only have a 20% chance of a quick afternoon shower each day. It will still be quite warm with highs in the low 90s and a light breeze from the northeast.
Next week starts out dry, but rain chances likely increase for the end of the week. It will all be determined by a tropical wave that should develop in the Caribbean early next week.
Obviously, since the system hasn’t formed yet, there are plenty of uncertainties with the ultimate path and intensity of the system. Most models agree that the system should drift north into the Gulf of Mexico next week, but there will be many shifts in the forecast as the system organizes. Stay updated.
