Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams to Co-Chair Met Gala 2026

Beyoncé is returning to the Met Gala.

After having last appeared at the New York City ball a decade ago, the music superstar will co-chair its 2026 affair.

Joining her on the dais are Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, tennis champion Venus Williams and Anna Wintour.

A fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, the gala will coincide with the “Costume Art” exhibition and take place Monday, May 4. The event traditionally takes place the first Monday of May.

Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz will lead the gala host committee, which includes Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Lisa, newly installed head of editorial content of Vogue U.S. Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson, and Yseult.

The evening’s dress code will be announced at a later date.

As previously announced, the lead sponsors of the gala and exhibition are Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos. Additional support is provided by Saint Laurent and Condé Nast.

“Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton, will examine the centrality of the dressed body, juxtaposing objects from across the museum’s vast collection with historical and contemporary garments from the Institute.

The exhibition will be the first show in The Met’s new nearly 12,000-square-foot galleries adjacent to the Great Hall.

“For The Costume Institute’s inaugural exhibition in the Condé M. Nast Galleries, I wanted to focus on the centrality of the dressed body within the museum connecting artistic representations of the body with fashion as an embodied artform,” Bolton said in a statement Wednesday. “Rather than prioritizing fashion’s visuality, which often comes at the expense of the corporeal, ‘Costume Art’ privileges its materiality and the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear.”
