Calpak and Randy’s Donuts Team Up for Sweet Los Angeles Collaboration
Calpak has a new brand collaboration with Randy’s Donuts. Released on Friday, the partnership, which brings together two Los Angeles-based businesses, features a limited-edition Calpak “Glazed Cherry” doughnut available at all Randy’s Donuts locations throughout October, as well as a new cherry-inspired travel collection.
The Glazed/Cherry travel line reinterprets several of Calpak’s core designs, including the Hue luggage line and Luka duffel bags, in new colors and prints. The collection debuts with three “Glazed” colorways— cherry, black and silver — alongside a limited cherry print offered in the brand’s popular Blossom and Oatmeal options.

Drawing on both brands’ shared Southern California roots, the pairing is intended to spark regional engagement while resonating with a wider national audience.
“As a travel brand, Calpak is constantly inspired by the journey — not just the destination. When we began developing our newest Glazed Collection, our conversation naturally turned to the excitement and rituals that come with every trip, whether it’s your daily commute or a long-awaited vacation. For anyone traveling through Los Angeles, a stop by the iconic Randy’s Donuts is part of that quintessential experience,” Jeannie Shin, Calpak’s vice president of marketing, told WWD. “With both Calpak and Randy’s deeply rooted in SoCal culture, partnering on a campaign roll-out felt like a seamless fit — a celebration of local icons and an on-the-go travel.”

Calpak’s strategy integrates the food collaboration as a local and cultural touchpoint designed to generate attention ahead of the collection’s release.
“This time, we wanted to take that a step further. We know one of the emotional connections we share with our customer is delicious food, so it felt exciting to offer a food experience to accompany the launch. Partnering with Randy’s allowed us to engage the senses through both sight and taste — introducing our very own Calpak Cherry Escape Donut, perfectly matched to the Glazed Cherry hue of our new luggage. It’s a playful yet elevated way to celebrate the art of travel, design and indulgence,” Shin said.

The initiative is part of a wider effort to distinguish the brand in the competitive pre-holiday retail period, using experiential connections, such as the doughnut tie-in, to highlight its product story.
“As we celebrate 36 years of design innovation, we continue to evolve by listening to our community and finding new ways to make travel feel inspiring and joyful. Collaborations like this give us the opportunity to explore fresh perspectives, connect with new audiences, and have fun with the process. We see our products as a canvas — timeless in form, but open to reinterpretation. Partnering with iconic brands like Randy’s Donuts allows us to tell new stories, celebrate creativity, and keep the Calpak spirit dynamic and forward-thinking,” Shin said.

The doughnut offer runs through October, with the Glazed/Cherry Collection launching exclusively through Calpak’s direct channels on Friday.
