Canadiens Are Tying the Knot in Droves This Summer

Wondering what your Montreal Canadiens players are up to this Summer? Well, there's been a lot of traveling and plenty of weddings. Last off-season had a slew of proposals so it only makes sense that this Summer has a slew of weddings, let's have a look at the three lucky couples.

Josh Anderson and Paola Finizio

Anderson popped the question to his girlfriend on May 31, 2023 while on a trip to Italy in the town of Puglia. As you can probably guess by her surname, the new Mrs. Anderson has got some Italian roots.

This Summer, the pair went back where the proposal was made and tied the knot in what looked like and incredibly fun outside wedding. Take a look for yourself at the fantastic video montage put together by Amaralis Photography on their Instagram Account. Try and find Canadiens or former Canadiens players for fun, not as easy as one would think. I managed to pause on an Image of the groom with his groomsmen and I believe I saw Joel Edmunston on the far left.

Jake Evans and Emily Flat

The couple got engaged on June 18, 2023 but actually began dating back when they were in high school. Just over a year after Flat said yes, the couple married in Ireland. When someone who's not a professional athlete or very rich gets married overseas, most of the time they struggle to get their friends to splash out for the trip. When you play for the Canadiens though, that's not an issue.

Cat Belanger-Tyler Toffoli's wife- shared a picture of the Canadiens' players (or former players) who attended the big day. Joel Armia, Brendan Gallagher, Joel Edmunsdon, Toffoli and captain Nick Suzuki all made the trip for Evans' big day.

In June 2023, the alternate captain proposed to Fortin in British-Columbia, in the exact same spot were her parents had gotten engaged 30 years before. If Gallagher made the proposal extra special, he did the same thing with perhaps the most lavish wedding I've ever seen pictures of. Granted, I don't do gossip magazines, but still.

The couple decided to get married in Montreal where all of Fortin's friends and family are which ensured for a very big turnout. The same can be said about Gallagher's teammates of former teammates' presence. Carey and Angela Price flew back to town, Jeff and Julie Petry did the same, Samuel Montembeault, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Chris Wideman and Christian Dvorak were all in attendance for what looked like quite a party.

Now that the wedding season is over, unless of course a player managed to get married without anybody knowing about it, all of these happy couples can enjoy a lovely Summer. They've got about a couple of months left until the support staff starts getting the locker-rooms ready in Montreal and Brossard, after the rookies have had their camps of course.
