Cinespia’s August Line-Up Includes Full Moon Slumber Party With ‘The Lost Boys’ and ‘An American Werewolf in London’
Cinespia has unveiled the August screenings at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which will include the annual Full Moon Slumber Party double feature.
This year features ’80s classics “The Lost Boys,” starring Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim and Jason Patric, and “An American Werewolf in London.” The Aug. 9 late night double feature promises “a night that totally bites,” and past Slumber Parties have included special surprise guests.
On Aug. 2, surf into the cemetery with “Point Break,” the 1991 Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze surf action caper.
On Aug. 16, find an outrageous ‘fit and get down to “Zoolander,” the 2001 fashion industry parody starring Ben Stiller.
If the Slumber Party wasn’t spooky enough, the Aug. 23 brings the movie that topped Variety‘s Greatest Movies of All Time list — Alfred Hitchock’s iconic 1960 “Psycho,” with Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh and Vera Miles.
“We’ve lined up a month of unforgettable stories that have stood the test of time,” said Cinespia founder John Wyatt. “These films aren’t just fan favorites, but cultural touchstones meant to be shared and celebrated amid fellow fans under an open night sky.”
Cinespia screenings include a DJ spinning tunes before and after each movie, a free photo booth with backdrops featuring popular films, a beer and wine bar and concession stands.
Cinespia also hosts screenings at the Greek Theatre, Los Angeles Historic Park and events at the art deco movie palaces of downtown L.A. The longest-running outdoor screening series in Los Angeles as well as the most popular outdoor movie event in Southern California, Cinespia is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video.
More screenings for Cinespia’s 24th season are still to come.
