Diane Kruger Proves the Kitten Heel Trend Isn’t Going Anywhere at Angouleme French-speaking Film Festival
Diane Kruger showed off a stylish look that saw her pair creamy leather kitten heels with a gray bouclé minidress at the Angouleme French-speaking film festival on Monday.
The German-born actress opted for a sleek style, dubbed the Clara, from Berlin-based footwear and accessories brand, Aeyde. Set on a barely there stiletto heel measuring just over an inch, the pumps combine an elongated pointed toe with a V-shaped vamp that sits higher on the foot, completely covering the toes. Retailing at $425, the kitten heels are crafted in Italy utilizing “lower-impact materials.”

Kruger styled the eye-catching silhouette with an elegant minidress done in charcoal gray bouclé-tweed fabric. The thigh-skimming number, a look from Del Core’s spring 2025 collection, boasts a highline neckline that gives way to chunky, knotted shoulder straps and a sultry open back design.
The “National Treasure” star slipped her hands into hidden pockets at the hips of the dress as she posed on the red carpet at the festival. Kruger, who wore her blonde tresses pulled back in a polished ponytail, kept accessories minimal for the occasion, sporting just a pair of gold, ball-shaped earrings.

Celebrities have been embracing kitten heels this summer, with Jessica Alba recently stepping out in russet suede Manolo Blahnik slingbacks in New York City. Olivia Rodrigo also wore a pair of vintage Miu Miu kitten heels at an event celebrating Lancôme’s “Juicy Treat” summer campaign, in which she stars. Moreover, Dakota Johnson hit the streets of NYC in kitten heels that bore a strong resemblance to Kruger’s Aeyde style, but were courtesy of London-based footwear brand Le Monde Beryl.

Hailey Bieber is another fan of the kitten heel trend, which originally became a popular footwear look in the 1950s and ’60s. The Rhode skin mogul wore black Toteme flip-flop kitten heels with baggy Gap jeans and a white tube top in West Hollywood last week.
