Dog goes for walk, internet in shock over giant object he brings home
A video capturing a dog's unexpected find on a walk has left viewers in hysterics.
The TikTok clip, posted by the dog's owner under @deuceontheloose26, films the canine strutting confidently down a road while carrying an enormous branch. The 11-second video has garnered more than 473,000 views and 76,000 likes since it was shared to TikTok on December 15, leading to plenty of amused takes in the comments section.
Viewers were able to see the playful black Labrador, named Deuce, return home on-leash from a routine outdoor stroll. While the dog walks energetically, he carries a large, sprawling branch. The branch is so large that it hit a garbage can as the determined canine carried it home.
The caption read: "Ain't no stopping me!"
Throughout the clip, Deuce seems completely at ease, oblivious to the oddity of his prize. Viewers on TikTok have responded to the clip with a flurry of lighthearted comments. Several pet owners have shared their own similar experiences of having to wean their dogs off the sticks and branches they had collected on walks.
"Branch manager," one viewer said. Another added: "He looked back at the bin like it was its fault."
"I love how their tummy goes side to side," a third viewer shared. Another added: "That's a good stick, he's gotta get that one home."
"It's not going in our yard Helen, it's going in our living room," another said. Another added: "My black does the same thing. We had the most sticks in our yard with no trees to be found."
"Hahaha I love it. My dog insists on bringing a stick home on every walk," another said.
"Nothing is stopping this hard working branch manager from getting his work done," another added.
Labrador retrievers are known for their innate love of retrieving, a trait rooted in their hunting heritage. On walks, they eagerly pick up sticks and branches, often carrying them proudly in their mouths. This behavior stems from their strong retrieval instinct, developed through generations of being bred as working dogs assisting hunters by retrieving game from water and land.
Deuce clearly has this trait in abundance, as his owner has shared several videos of him carrying sticks and branches to TikTok.
