EXCLUSIVE: Re/Done Reimagines Vintage Disney Graphics for Their First Collaboration
Disney and Re/Done have introduced their first jointly developed collection, Mickey & Friends, on Friday. The capsule reexamines Disney’s earliest graphics, using original silhouettes of Mickey Mouse to connect the brand’s roots with Re/Done’s established Americana style.
“Disney holds a unique emotional power, something people connect to on a personal level. By reimagining these early Mickey & Friends graphics, and soon, more unexpected treasured characters, we’re creating pieces that invite our community to relive the joy and magic of memories that have shaped our lives through the decades,” Phillip Prado, chief executive officer of Re/Done, told WWD via statement.

The new series utilizes archival character artwork and integrates it across recognizable Re/Done pieces. Customers will find designs printed on the Classic Tee, Baby Tee and Boyfriend Tee, constructed with recycled heritage cotton. The lineup also offers the Classic Crewneck in brushed terry and a premium Cashmere Crewneck Pullover showing Mickey and Minnie Mouse in a classic graphic.
The campaign supporting the collection was photographed at the John Lautner Harpel House in the Hollywood Hills by Morgan Maher. The images are complemented by a throwback-style video recorded with early 2000s camcorder technology, reinforcing Re/Done’s typical affinity for vintage visuals. Meadow Walker and Grace Burns are the faces of the campaign, spotlighting the 90s Baby Tee and Boyfriend Tee from the Disney-inspired lineup.

This collaboration is the first of many to come for Disney and Re/Done, according to the Los Angeles-based brand. More capsules will be released in the future, drawing inspiration from additional Disney characters and different design eras.
Since its founding in 2014, Re/Done has become known for repurposing vintage Levi’s, emphasizing sustainability and heritage. The Mickey & Friends capsule is a continuation of the brand’s strategy to blend archival work with up-to-date fashion methodologies.

The Disney x Re/Done collection is available at all Re/Done stores across Los Angeles, Aspen, The Hamptons, Paris and South Korea and online at shopredone.com.
