French First Lady Brigitte Macron’s Louis Vuitton Elegance Honors Pope Francis at Vatican Funeral
Brigitte Macron joined her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron, on Saturday in Rome at the funeral for Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Square.
France’s first lady observed a somber and minimalist dress code, choosing an all-black structured silhouette.

Macron coordinated with a double-breasted coat that featured wide lapels accented by large buttons, and a blouse and bow-neck scarf. Her pleated skirt was accessorized with a Louis Vuitton belt that had the fashion house’s logo in gold.
The minimalism continued with pink lipstick and a light touch of eyeshadow. Her blonde hair kept its typically voluminous, layered style with soft waves and bangs.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel wore a black suit with a vest, trousers, button-up white top and tie.
The first lady was joined by many political leaders and her global counterparts, including U.S. first lady Melania Trump and former FLOTUS Jill Biden.

Alongside President Donald Trump, Melania chose a double-breasted Dolce & Gabbana black coat crafted from lightweight wool, paired with a black silk georgette mantilla featuring a Chantilly lace border and gloves. Jill, who joined former president Joe Biden, wore a Schiaparelli dress featuring embellished buttons, with a mantilla and Marion Parke heels.

Some of the other guests among an estimated crowd of 250,000 people, included Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and more.

Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Argentina, died at 88 on April 21. The first Latin American Jesuit pope, he will be buried at Santa Maria Maggiore.
