Halsey Blooms in Louboutin’s Sunshine Yellow Flower Slingbacks at Venice Film Festival
Halsey marked the Venice Film Festival premiere of “The Smashing Machine” in Christian Louboutin’s Guitoune Flower slingbacks, a 2005 silhouette cut in sunshine yellow satin.
The style carries a pleated vamp, rounded peep toe and rosette accent across the forefoot, anchored by a slim slingback strap and set on a stiletto heel. In yellow satin, the rosette pumps kept the singer’s look monochrome, signaling a likely custom execution of the archival design.

The Guitoune was part of Louboutin’s mid-2000s evening lineup, released alongside other rosette-front pumps like the Gine. First seen on red carpets in 2005 — worn by Princess Caroline of Monaco and Lindsay Lohan (FOR FACT-CHECK: https://ufonomore.com/blog/2025/7/19/regal-review-prince-alberts-accession-mass-garden-party) — the style quickly became a reference point for the brand’s floral evening shoes. Its construction emphasized folded satin and sculptural detail, a departure from the glossy platforms that dominated the same era. Its presence in Venice underscored how heritage silhouettes are resurfacing on carpets with minimal adjustments — here, through a bold color refresh.

The choice also landed within a season of yellow and floral footwear. In July, Lohan leaned on lemon Louboutin Sova sandals during her “Freakier Friday” press run, while Jessica Alba wore Loewe’s Crystal Flower stilettos in London, paired with her daughter Honor’s crystal Kurt Geigers. Across satin, patent and metallic, the throughline has been clear: blooms and bright tones grounding eveningwear.
Halsey paired the pumps with a Nicol & Ford halter gown in matching satin. Sheer insets sliced through the bodice, while floral embroidery traced the hem. The look was styled by Lyn Alyson with hair by Marty Harper.
Benny Safdie’s “The Smashing Machine” — starring Dwayne Johnson as MMA champion Mark Kerr with Emily Blunt — premiered to a standing ovation, anchoring the first week of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. Running Aug. 27–Sept. 6 on the Lido, with Paolo Sorrentino’s “La Grazia” opening and Cédric Jimenez’s “Dog 51“ closing, this year’s edition also honored Werner Herzog and Kim Novak with Lifetime Achievement Golden Lions.
