How Rachel Scott, Brianna Keilar, Juju Chang and More Embraced Sheer, Sequins and Other Red Carpet Trends for the 2025 White House Correspondents’ Dinner
On a night dedicated to honoring the press and the First Amendment, the women’s fashion at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2025 made its own statement. Shimmering fabrics, delicate sheers and designer pieces were seen on the event’s red carpet, which took place on Saturday at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.
Here, WWD takes a closer look at the fashion moments from the event.
Rachel Scott
ABC’s Rachel Scott wore a strapless gown from Gattinolli by Marwan with a striking black and white design. The top portion of the dress featured an intricate embroidered in the center of the bodice, while the bottom was a flowing white skirt with a slit. The senior political correspondent completed her red carpet look with minimal accessories.

Juju Chang
Juju Chang opted for a bold print, wearing a deep teal, one-shoulder gown by Ulla Johnson. Made of a patterned fabric, the dress featured a decorative shoulder detail on the single strap. The “Nightline” co-anchor accessorized with dangling earrings and a sparkly bracelet.

Olivia Beavers
Chang wasn’t the only one embracing vibrant patterns on the red carpet. WSJ’s Olivia Beavers donned a white Zimmerman dress featuring a turquoise paisley print.

Brianna Keilar
Black was one of the biggest trends on the red carpet. Brianna Keilar wore a black dress with sheer elements and beading throughout, creating a sparkling effect. The dress featured long sleeves and a modest neckline, with sheer portions visible at the sleeves and the lower part of the dress. The CNN anchor finished her look with metallic silver heels and gold earrings.

Abby Phillip
Abby Phillip donned a black, liquid metal-inspired dress by Lurline featuring a form-fitting and floor-length silhouette. She opted for subtle jewelry, including a bracelet.

Kaitlan Collins
Kaitlan Collins wore a classic, strapless black satin cocktail dress that fell to about knee length. The dress had a structured, tailored fit with some horizontal seaming.

The 2025 White House Correspondents’ Dinner took place on Saturday at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. Organized by the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA), the annual event brings together journalists, political figures and entertainment industry guests to recognize outstanding achievements in journalism and raise funds for the WHCA’s First Amendment scholarships and mentorship programs.
This year’s dinner did not feature a comedic headliner, as Amber Ruffin, who was originally scheduled to perform, was removed from the lineup following controversy over her comments about President Trump.
