Confession time: I have way too many jeans to count, and yet that still hasn’t stopped me from adding more to my collection. Despite running out of room in my closet, I’m always on the hunt for another pair. Sometimes it’s a wash or silhouette that’s similar to what I already own, other times it’s something completely different—every pair serves a purpose.

Virgo Marrone Sabbia

Lately, I’ve been really into earth tones. My first intro to the trend was a beige barrel leg from La Ligne, and I’ve been loving the palette so much that I had to get another pair, this time brown mid-rise jeans from an indie brand called Jeanerica.

Founded in 2018, the Scandinavian label has made a name for itself by reinterpreting classic American denim through a modern lens. Every design is crafted with timeless style, premium craftsmanship, and sustainability in mind. The Virgo, which is the brand’s best-selling mid-rise silhouette, is the one I got in the Marrone Sabbia wash. The jeans are fitted through the waist before falling into a relaxed straight leg reminiscent to boyfriend styles from the ‘90s. A distressed hem finishes the look, adding a lived-in feel to the pair.

What takes the jeans to the next level is easily the brown dye used. The best way I can describe the shade is as a dusty mocha. It’s more muted than a true brown, but is still versatile enough to style in multiple ways, while subtle fading adds to the overall vintage feel. Between that and the silhouette, everything about these are effortlessly cool. There’s something about them that a classic blue jean can’t bring to an outfit; they just make everything look a smidge more elevated. Who knew a pair of brown jeans can do that? A true under-the-radar hit if you ask me.
