Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson to Return for ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are expected to reprise their roles as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in “The Hunger Games” prequel, “Sunrise on the Reaping.”

The Lionsgate movie, based on the latest novel by Suzanne Collins, follows the events of the 50th Hunger Games, more than two-and-a-half decades before Katniss and Peeta first entered the games, so the nature of the cameos is unclear. The film, directed by Francis Lawrence, is slated for release on Nov. 20, 2026.

A representative for the studio did not respond to request for comment. Lawrence and Hutcherson’s involvement in the film was first reported by The Insneider.
