Julia Roberts Ties Menswear Ease to Jimmy Choo’s Scarlett Pumps in New York
Julia Roberts gave tailoring a relaxed spin at the “After the Hunt” screening in uptown Manhattan on Friday, pairing slouched shirting with one of Jimmy Choo’s sharpest fall heels.
The actress wore the British brand’s Scarlett 95 pump in black nappa leather, a $1,075 silhouette distinguished by corset-style lacing at the vamp. Its cut is pointed and precise, set on a 95mm “drop” stiletto that narrows into a rounded base. The mix of corset detail and experimental heel has quickly marked the Scarlett as one of Jimmy Choo’s key fall statements, balancing function with drama.

Roberts kept the rest of her look deliberately undone: a long shirtdress with rolled sleeves, split hem and a slim black tie that gestured toward menswear codes. An oversized black top-handle bag and dark sunglasses topped off the nonchalant finish.

The Scarlett has been a focus of Jimmy Choo’s fall 2025 campaign, fronted by Sydney Sweeney. Creative director Sandra Choi described the lineup as reinforcing “the power of shoes and accessories to transform, acting out the possible characters.” For the Scarlett, that character has already found favor across red carpets: earlier this month, Lily James paired the style with tailored separates in New York, highlighting its adaptability from officewear to evening.

For Roberts, the pump comes at a moment of heightened visibility. She recently fronted the debut cover of Edward Enninful’s 72 Magazine, photographed in Phoebe Philo tailoring and Tiffany & Co. jewelry, with an interview conducted by George Clooney. The actress is also earning critical attention for her role as a Yale professor in Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt,” which premiered to strong reviews this fall.
