Julianne Moore Goes Strapless in Caped The Row Dress at the 2025 Independent Spirit Awards
Julianne Moore opted for a strapless silhouette at the 2025 Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, Calif. on Saturday. The actress, who was nominated for Best Lead Performance In a New Scripted Series for “Mary & George,” wore a caped dress by The Row.
Moore added on cat-eye knot hinge sunglasses by Bottega Veneta, as well as statement earrings and a ring by Lisa Eisner Jewelry.
Stylist Kate Young, who also counts Scarlett Johansson and Nina Dobrev as clients, dressed Moore for the occasion.

Hairdresser Owen Gould styled Moore’s auburn tresses in a sleek ponytail, while makeup artist Elaine Offers gave her rosy blush and a berry lip.
In December, Moore also wore The Row at the Paris premiere of “The Room Next Door.” The Oscar-winning actress costars with Tilda Swinton in Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film.
Moore donned a draped bias cut The Row slipdress, accessorizing with nude open-toe heels and Ana Khouri jewelry, including a pair of pearl earrings and chunky gold rings.

1990s minimalism has seen a resurgence in 2024 following the viral “quiet luxury” trend. The pared-down aesthetic refers to the sleek designs of Calvin Klein, Helmut Lang and Jil Sander, whose clean lines, neutral palettes and flattering silhouettes defined the decade.
Moore’s gown resembled Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s wedding dress, designed by her close friend Narciso Rodriguez. Bessette-Kennedy is widely regarded as a pioneer of ’90s minimalism, and her silk crepe sheath with a cowl neckline upended the popularity of princessy, puff-sleeve brides, ushering in the craze for simplistic, slip-style wedding gowns.
The 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards, held on Feb. 22 in Santa Monica and hosted by Aidy Bryant, honor the best performances, writing and direction in independent film in 2024. “Anora” and “I Saw the TV Glow” lead the field with six nominations each.
