Laverne Cox Shines in Nude-Illusion Thierry Mugler Gown at NAACP Image Awards 2025
Laverne Cox brought her obsession with Mugler to Saturday’s NAACP Image Awards 2025 red carpet. The actress attended the awards ceremony, held in Los Angeles, in a nude-illusion gown from the French brand.
Cox’s gown featured a nude strapless corset, lace-up closure and a black panel dropping down from her bodice and transitioning into a skirt. She accessorized her look with a vintage Thierry Mugler centerpiece collar, dangling gold and crystal earrings and the Mugler X H&M teardrop ring.

Cox has spoken about her admiration for Thierry Mugler’s work many times before. She reportedly owns more than 500 pieces created by the designer and was seen in Mugler dresses on many red carpets and Hollywood events, including the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and the 2023 Emmy Awards.

More recently, Cox was seen wearing a dramatic look at Christian Siriano’s fall 2025 New York Fashion Week show, featuring a bodysuit with voluminous, metallic-like sleeves.
At the NAACP Image Awards 2025, Cox will join the lineup of presenters. The actress is also currently promoting her new Hulu show, “Clean Slate.”

The 2025 NAACP Image Awards, held on Saturday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and hosted by Dean Cole, honor the entertainers who left an indelible impact on arts and entertainment culture in 2024. The Wayans family will be inducted into the NAACP Hall of Fame and former Vice President Kamala Harris will receive the Chairman’s Award.
