‘Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power’ Casts Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan
Middle-earth just gained two more inhabitants.
Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan have joined the cast of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” for the Amazon Prime Video series’ upcoming third season.
Bower will be a series regular, while Marsan will appear in a recurring role. The season is currently in pre-production and will begin filming this spring at Shepperton Studios in the U.K.
Bower is perhaps best known for playing the villain Henry Creel/Vecna in Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” He also played Mick Jagger in “Urban Myths: Mick & Margaret,” Christopher Marlow in “Will,” King Arthur in “Camelot,” the voice of Skiff in “Thomas & Friends” and 11-12 in the remake of “The Prisoner” alongside Sir Ian McKellen.
He made his film debut in Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” opposite Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter. He played Gellert Grindelwald in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I” and reprised that role in “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.” He also appeared in three “Twilight” films and Kevin Costner’s Western epic “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.”
Marsan played Terry Donovan in Showtime’s “Ray Donovan,” which ran for seven seasons. He reprised the role for the 2022 feature film. His other notable credits include “Deadpool 2,” “Atomic Blonde,” Guy Ritchie’s “Wrath of Man,” “Deceit,” “Ridley Road,” “White Boy Rick” and Adam McKay’s “Vice.”
Marsan has also appeared in “Gangs of New York,” “War Horse,” “V for Vendetta,” “Mission Impossible 3,” “Hancock,” “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Hobbs and Shaw” and Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes.”
“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” a prequel to the “Lord of the Rings” series, is showrun by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who executive produce alongside Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell and director Charlotte Brändström. Matthew Penry-Davey is producer and Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene and Andrew Lee are co-producers.
