Michael Jordan’s Beloved ‘Space Jam’ Air Jordan 11 Is Coming Back for the First Time Since 2016
Days after news surfaced of an upcoming Air Jordan 4 Bred reissue, details on another major 2026 Jordan release have been reported by early sources.
According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, joining next year’s holiday lineup is the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Space Jam.” As its nickname suggests, the fan-favorite style is closely associated with the 1996 film, which pitted Michael Jordan and his Looney Tunes companions against the skill-stealing Monstars.
Yet, despite its ties to the animated family film, the shoe was first worn by Jordan during the 1995 NBA Playoffs, notably against the Penny Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal-led Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The Black/Dark Concord/White Air Jordan 11 Space Jam colorway is most famously connected to the movie, where Jordan would lace up the patent leather pair for his heroic dunks. But fans would have to wait a few years before getting a chance to purchase the sneaker, which debuted at retail during December 2000.

More than two decades later, the Space Jam style remains one of the most popular Air Jordans. It has been reissued on two occasions: first in 2009 and again with a “remastered” iteration in 2016. Both of the rereleases arrived during peak hype around holiday Air Jordan 11 drops, with the latter touted as the “largest and most successful shoe launch in the history of Nike” during the company’s Q3 2017 earnings call.
“The top performer, however, was the ‘Space Jam’ 11s. And when I say ‘top performer,’ I don’t just mean in Q3. The ‘Space Jam’ 11 was the largest and most successful shoe launch in the history of Nike. This speaks not only to the obvious demand for our products, but also our ability to connect greater numbers of consumers worldwide to the products they covet,” said then-Nike Brand president Trevor Edwards.
The Air Jordan 11 isn’t the only Space Jam sneaker set to return. The Air Jordan 9 Retro “Space Jam,” also worn by Jordan briefly in the movie, is expected to be released during fall ’26.
As for the Air Jordan 11 Retro Space Jam, it’s set to be released during holiday ’26 for a retail price of $235 from Nike’s Snkrs app and Jordan Brand retailers globally. The style will likely be released in full-family sizing, although the specifics have yet to be confirmed. Images of the ’16 reissue appear below.
