Decorated Kenyan track and field star Faith Kipyegon goes for a record that was once-considered insurmountable Thursday, as she attempts to become the first woman to run the four-minute mile.

Kipyegon will actually attempt to dip below the 4:00 mark, which would make her the first woman to complete the threshold, which has been a long-held track standard since British runner Roger Bannister first ran a sub-four-minute mile in 1954. Kipyegon’s personal best time is 4:07:64 set in 2023 so she’ll need to shave about eight seconds off her PB to get the mark.

Want to watch Kipyegon’s four-minute mile attempt? The Kenyan’s race takes place Thursday, June 26 at Stade Charléty in Paris. The start time is set for 8 p.m. local time, which is 2 p.m. ET.

You also stream Kipyegon’s race live online on Amazon Prime or YouTube Thursday, with coverage beginning at approximately 1:15 p.m. ET. You can also watch a replay on Prime Video beginning the next day. Amazon and Nike been chronicling Kipyegon’s training and journey thus far with a new docuseries titled, “Breaking4,” available to stream on Prime Video here.

Not a Prime member? Get a 30-day free trial here and use it to livestream Kipyegon’s four-minute mile attempt online free. You’ll also have your membership in time for the upcoming Amazon Prime Day sale in July.

Nike has been backing Kipyegon’s training, and recently released a capsule collection of official merch in honor of the Olympic and World Champ’s (hopefully) record-breaking run.

Kipyegon is the current world record holder in the mile, in addition to holding the world record over 1,500 meters. She is a three-time Olympic Champion, most recently taking home a gold medal in the 1,500 meters at the Paris Summer Games. She is also a four-time World Champion, having won three times at the 1,500 distance and claiming a world gold at the 5,000 meters event in 2023.

As a Nike release states, “In pursuing the landmark feat, she’ll push the limits of sport beyond what’s long believed to be achievable, setting the stage for future generations to dream big.”

The Nike limited series, meantime, is officially titled “Breaking4: Faith Kipyegon vs. the 4-Minute Mile” and is streaming on Prime Video now.

A description for the series calls it an “intimate and electrifying portrait of an athlete pushing the boundaries of human potential. The limited series follows Faith’s preparation for her groundbreaking attempt through exclusive access and interviews that illustrate her commitment to redefining the limits of the present for both elite and everyday athletes, and inspiring future generations to challenge the impossible.”

The Faith Kipyegon series is co-produced by Box To Box Films, which also produced the Emmy-winning F1 series, Formula 1: Drive to Survive.
