Phillies Could Land $52 Million Infielder If They Opt To Trade Alec Bohm

The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly listening to trade offers for All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm. While this rumor began before the Phillies acquired Jesús Luzardo, there's still a real possibility Bohm is moved for an outfielder like Luis Robert Jr.
If Bohm is traded, the Phillies would need to replace him and the perfect third baseman sits in St. Louis.
The St. Louis Cardinals are reportedly desperately trying to trade Nolan Arenado, and the Phillies are on his list of teams he would waive his no-trade clause for. If the Phillies trade Bohm, there's nobody better than Arenado to replace him at the hot corner.

Here's a deal that would send Arenado to Philadelphia if the Phillies end up trading Bohm:
- Philadelphia Phillies receive: 3B Nolan Arenado, $25 million
- St. Louis Cardinals receive: OF Gabriel Rincones Jr. (No. 11 prospect)
In the trade, the Cardinals would be sending Arenado and $25 million to the Phillies in exchange for Gabriel Rincones Jr.
Rincones Jr. is a 6-foot 3 left-handed hitter with the power potential to be a middle of the order bat. The 23-year-old will likely be developed enough to crack the big leagues in 2025, whether that be with the Phillies or another team.
The Phillies would get the veteran leader they're looking for in this deal, along with $25 million to pay half of Arenado's remaining contract. Losing Rincones wouldn't crush the Phillies farm system, especially if they add an outfielder by trading Bohm.
Ultimately, this idea comes down to whether Philadelphia wants to trade Bohm in the first place. If the Phillies third baseman stays in Philadelphia, there's no reason to believe they'd entertain an Arenado trade.
