Please Don’t Destroy Reunites For First Time Since John Higgins’ ‘SNL’ Exit, Confirms Staying Together: ‘It’s PDD Forever Baby!’

Please Don’t Destroy isn’t going anywhere.

The “Saturday Night Live” comedy trio, comprised of Ben Marshall, Martin Herlihy and John Higgins, reunited Friday night in Portland for the first time since “SNL” disbanded the group in a major cast shake-up. However, according to an enthusiastic proclimation from Higgins, the group has no plans to stop performing together.

As they opened their live show, they sarcastically asked the audience, “Anything go on this week?” and “Anything in the news?” One audience member incoherently shouted something back at the trio, most likely referencing the “SNL” news. Higgins then replied, “It’s PDD forever, baby!” Marshall backed him up, adding, “What he said.”

After four seasons of producing digital shorts, the group was split up at “SNL” after Marshall was made an official cast member. Herlihy is to remain a member of the “SNL” writing staff, while Higgins has left the show to pursue other ventures as an actor.

“I love these boys so much … This is a new chapter, but we’re not going to stop working together anytime soon,” Marshall wrote on Instagram after the “SNL” shake-up was announced. Higgins noted in his own post, “I can’t believe how lucky I was to be a part of this show … I’m excited to pursue acting opportunities that I’ll announce soon but today I’m just grateful for everything we got to do.”

Please Don’t Destroy was founded in 2017 after Marshall, Higgins and Herlihy met as students at NYU. They started by posting sketches on social media in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and putting on live stage shows. They officially joined “SNL” on the 47th season as writers.
