Queen Latifah Hits the US Open in Timeless Tassel Mules

On the heels of her WNBA courtside appearance earlier this week, Queen Latifah took to the US Open, where she leaned into fall fashion with a pair of black mules.

The singer and actress watched Coco Gauff’s second-round match against Donna Vekic on Thursday, wearing black slip-on mules from JW Anderson. Made in Italy, the high-shine leather shoes featured a round toe and two oversized tassels on the front, a detail that strikes the perfect balance between timeless and trendy. Meanwhile, a smattering of white stitching on the sides added more intrigue to the otherwise pared-back silhouette. The shoes are also available in tan brown leather and brown suede.

Queen Latifah paired the mules with an all-white outfit consisting of a button-up shirt with striped sleeves, which she left open atop a tank, and coordinating Bermuda shorts, putting her footwear on full display. She accented the look with a long gold pendant necklace, chunky silver earrings and black sunglasses. For beauty, Queen Latifah styled her hair in a high ponytail and opted for a glowy skin and a glossy lip.

If her mules look familiar, that’s because the “Ladies First” singer wore the look at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024, which marked the brand’s first runway show after a six-year hiatus. For the event, Queen Latifah, who was joined by her partner Eboni Nichols, elevated the tassel-adorned flats with a sleeveless black coat featuring feather cuffs, a satin blouse and tailored trousers.

Year after year, the US Open draws in a long list of celebrities, and this year is no exception. Over the past few days, the likes of Simone Biles, Olivia Munne and Anna Wintour have been spotted at the annual tournament, which goes until September 7.
