Salehe Bembury's New Balance 1000 'Fog Be the Cloud' Will Release in Just a Week
Salehe Bembury appears to be busier than ever, as his Crocs line continues, his first book and Puma signature sneaker for Tyrese Haliburton are on the way, and he’s been teasing the launch of his own brand. Then there’s his recurring New Balance collaborations, which are leading to a highly anticipated release.
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1000 Fog Be the Cloud will release in just a week. Bembury himself hasn’t said much about the sneaker while posting images of it, but it’s plain to see a nature-inspired colorway making use of sky blue leather and forest green. The latter color is used for a shaggy suede toe, as well as the midsole, while bursts of color appear throughout the rest of the sneaker in highlighter yellow, pink, burnt orange and red. A translucent “N” logo is lined with lime green, and a cork insole continues the natural elements.

Bembury’s last few New Balance collaborations haven’t sold out, and the two most recent came at higher prices than usual because of Made in U.K. construction. Given the reception to the 1000, though, this sneaker may bring back the hype of collaborations in the earlier years of the partnership.
New Balance launched the 1000 as a running shoe in 1999 and brought it back out of the archives in 2024. Most of New Balance’s most acclaimed collaborators have taken it on, including Joe Freshgoods, Aimé Leon Dore and Kith.
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1000 Fog Be the Cloud will release Aug. 22 through New Balance’s website. A launch through Bembury’s own Be a Spunge website will likely precede New Balance’s drop, and pricing has not yet been confirmed.
