“My Wife is a Spy” stars Gillain as Isabelle, a married suburban mother of two who emerges from a fall with extraordinary ability that have been dormant for 20 years and suddenly starts to remember her past as a top secret agent. “This series is an ode to mothers and to their hidden potential,” Maubert said, adding that it’s “first and foremost an adventure comedy” with “colorful characters.”
Ramy Nahas, SND’s head of international sales, described “My Wife is a Spy” as a “fun popcorn comedy that delivers colorful action and fights,” in the spirit of Tex Avery or Jachie Chan.
“Léo Karmann has a unique sense of cinematography and storytelling,” Nahas said, adding that the adventures of the “both grounded in reality and and over-the-top when she enters the world of spies.”
Speaking of Maubert, Nahas said “has an eye for captivating story about strong female characters overcoming obstacles in weird and unusual set ups.”
