Tamannaah Bhatia, Diana Penty and Karan Johar’s ‘Do You Wanna Partner’ Sets September Prime Video Bow (EXCLUSIVE)
Karan Johar‘s Dharmatic Entertainment has set a September bow for “Do You Wanna Partner,” a comedy-drama series starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty as entrepreneurial best friends breaking into the alcohol startup space.
The Prime Video series follows the duo as they attempt to establish their craft beer business in a male-dominated industry. The series centers on Shikha and Anahita (Bhatia and Penty) as they navigate the vibrant chaos of urban life while building their business from scratch.
Johar produces alongside Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta, with Somen Mishra and Archit Kumar serving as executive producers. Kumar co-directs with Collin D’Cunha. The series is written by Nandini Gupta, Aarsh Vora and Mithun Gongopadhyay, and created by Gongopadhyay and Nishant Nayak.
The ensemble cast includes Jaaved Jaafery, Nakuul Mehta, Neeraj Kabi, Shweta Tiwari, Sufi Motiwala and Rannvijay Singha.
“‘Do You Wanna Partner’ is a bold and spirited tale of ambition, friendship, and hustle – told through the lens of two women rewriting the rules in a male-dominated industry,” said Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India. “With its relatable characters, sharp writing, and a distinctly Indian flavor, the series brings female entrepreneurship to life with warmth, wit and infectious energy.”
“‘Do You Wanna Partner’ is audacious, vibrant and unapologetically fun – a story that captures the grit, heart, and hustle of a new generation of entrepreneurs, especially women making their mark in unconventional industries,” Johar added. “It’s quirky, emotional, and rooted in the Indian spirit of jugaad .”
Producer Apoorva Mehta said: “The incredible ensemble led by Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty, alongside Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi, has brought authenticity, warmth and spark to every scene adding real depth to the narrative.”
Executive producer Somen Mishra added: “What sets it apart is not just its humour and vibrancy, but the way it celebrates ambition and female friendship with honesty and heart. Tamannaah and Diana light up the screen with their electric chemistry.”
“Do You Wanna Partner” streams from Sept. 12. It joins Prime Video’s growing slate of Hindi-language originals, which includes series like “Paatal Lok,” “Panchayat,” “Mirzapur,” “The Family Man,” and recent releases like “Citadel: Honey Bunny.”
