Tig Notaro Says She’s Writing a ‘Hot Lesbian Action’ Movie With Zack Snyder
Tig Notaro is planning another splashy collaboration with Zack Snyder.
The actor and comedian was on the Dec. 1 episode of the podcast “On With Kara Swisher,” where she spoke about her role in Snyder’s 2021 action film “Army of the Dead,” which she joined as a replacement for the comedian Chris D’Elia. The role had unexpected results for Notaro.
“I go viral for being sexy in this film,” she said. “And it was so unexpected. My phone’s exploding. I’m not walking around going ‘Oh my God,’ you know, ‘check me out.’ I was so confused. So I called Zack, and I said, ‘I’m hearing it from straight men, gay men, gay women and straight women that they think I’m hot in this movie.'”
The situation gave Notaro creative inspiration for a new project that Snyder was quickly on board with.
“‘What if we just went for it and everyone’s a hot lesbian?'” she said. “He was like, ‘Oh my God, yes, let’s make that movie.’ And so who knows? It’s a Hollywood project. We’re in the process of putting the script together. Picture this poster: We have the name of the film, and then it says ‘Hot Lesbian Action.’ That’s how I sold him on the Zoom.”
Notaro also spilled some early details on the project.
“As of now, the the movie is called ‘Deviants,’ and takes place back in some old-timey days, like some closeted deviants,” she said.
When she’s not working on that project, Notaro voiced a bear in this week’s box office hit “Zootopia 2,” and reprises her “Star Trek” role of Jett Reno in the upcoming series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.”
