Urban Outfitters Debuts Hello Kitty x Monchhichi Collaboration With Plush Bag Charms
Urban Outfitters is capitalizing on the rising bag charm trend with a collaboration between Hello Kitty and Monchhichi. The limited-edition plush charms, featuring the two brands’ quintessential designs, debut on Thursday.
The limited-edition Hello Kitty x Monchhichi collab at Urban Outfitters marries nostalgia with the contemporary accessories trend.

“Urban Outfitters has long been the destination for collectible culture offering exclusive, hype-worthy pieces our customer can’t find anywhere else,” Marybeth Cahill, chief merchandising officer at Urban Outfitters, shared in a statement to WWD. “The Hello Kitty x Monchhichi collection builds on that legacy with a mix of accessible price points, unexpected finds, and limited-edition drops.”
The plush Hello Kitty and the cult-fave Monchhichi feature three distinct styles — the Hello Kitty x Monchhichi Overalls Plush ($50), Hello Kitty x Monchhichi Costume Plush ($55) and the Hello Kitty x Monchhichi Keychain ($35). Hello Kitty and Monchhichi’s collaboration at Urban Outfitters comes amid a rise in popularity for bag charms and accessories.

Bag charms experienced a dramatic increase in trendiness over the past year, thanks in no small part to the ongoing Labubu craze, which has pierced the fashion zeitgeist. Labubus fueled Pop Mart’s 1,828 percent sales increase on TikTok Shop U.S. from June 2024 to June 2025, according to Charm.io.
Labubus quickly became more than just a little plush monster charm and transitioned into a major fashion statement, featured in street-style apparel and embraced by celebrities such as Cher and “The White Lotus” Season Three star and Blackpink member Lisa.

But the bag charm craze extends beyond Labubu. Mini water bottles as bag charms became a must-have practical and functional accessory as an addition to totes and purses during the summer season, amid warmer temperatures and persistent heat and humidity.
The nostalgia-infused collaboration with Monchhichi is the latest for Hello Kitty. HeyDude and Hello Kitty dropped a new collaboration on July 15 featuring a limited-edition line of seven playful styles, including the Wendy Hello Kitty Takeover slip-on shoe.
