Yemen's Houthis accuse Israel of attacking port of Hodeidah
Israel on Saturday mounted airstrikes in Yemen's port city of Hodeidah, media loyal to Yemen's Iranian-aligned Houthi militia reported.
Houthi mouthpiece TV al-Masirah said the "US-Zionist aggression" had targeted oil storage facilities at the Hodeidah port, triggering fires and thick smoke.
The broadcaster, citing the Houthi-controlled Health Ministry, said the Israeli strikes had left dead and injured people, without giving specific figures.
The attack came a day after the Houthis claimed a drone attack on an "important target" in Tel Aviv in what the militia said was retaliation for Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip.
A Houthi official confirmed Saturday's attack was Israeli and vowed retaliation.
" an Israeli aggression on Hodeidah and a fire at the main port in Yemen," said Nasruddin Amer, the the deputy head of the Houthis' media authority.
"Yemeni operations supporting Gaza will not stop and the response to this aggression is inevitable," he said in an X post.
Houthi militants have also been attacking ships in the Red Sea and said they want to force an end to the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, which followed the unprecedented massacre by the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas in Israel in October
