Zaya Wade Brings Combat Edge to Miu Miu’s Miutine Party with Buckled Boots in New York City
Zaya Wade leaned into Miu Miu’s tougher codes at the Miutine party in New York City on Friday night. The party at The Twenty Two Hotel marked the launch of Miu Miu’s Miutine fragrance, staged with a guest list of brand ambassadors and new-season footwear.
Wade’s $2,600 boots were cut from distressed brown leather with a perforated upper. Straps buckled around the shaft in staggered rows, while the brand’s logo was stamped at the heel. A lace-up front and round toe grounded the silhouette.

The boots stood out against a collegiate outfit of a pleated navy skirt and striped button-down shirt, both from Miu Miu. A tan leather satchel and oversized gold watch gave the ensemble a practical tone, complementing the shoes’ industrial edge.

Her look also offered a counterpoint to Lori Harvey’s shoes at the same party. While Harvey leaned into the brand’s socks-and-pumps code, Wade emphasized Miu Miu’s more industrial edge. At the Miutine party, Harvey’s socks-and-pumps and Wade’s strapped boots mapped the two directions the house has been pushing: delicate polish and utilitarian grit.
For Wade, the choice marked another entry in her steady run of boot moments. Earlier this year, she and Gabrielle Union wore cowboy styles for Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour stop in Los Angeles, embracing the western trend in tandem. At the Out100 celebration in late 2024, Wade opted for black patent mary janes with a Ronny Kobo jacket dress. The Miutine boots pulled her in a different direction — heavier, utilitarian and aligned with Miu Miu’s uniform streak.
Alongside Lori Harvey, Chloë Sevigny and Amelia Gray Hamlin, Wade rounded out a guest list that framed the evening as both a fragrance launch and a signal of Miu Miu’s future direction.
