It was a familial affair on Tuesday night as Julia and Emma Roberts came together at Central Park’s Boathouse to kick off New York Fashion Week with Jacquemus and Veuve Clicquot.
The aunt-and-niece pair, whose red carpet appearance was their first together in 13 years, were only two of many bold-faced names to gather in their finest cocktail attire at the famed Upper East Side locale. Stars such as Solange Knowles, Charlotte Le Bon, Jacquemus designer Simon Porte, Imaan Hammam, Toby Wallace, newly-appointed Vogue editorial director Chloe Malle and more strolled into the venue just before the sun began setting over The Lake which before dinner, set the stage for an orchestral performance from the alumni of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, who played their instruments from Veuve-colored canoes.
The kick-off dinner served as Jacquemus’ main event of New York Fashion Week, at which the French label doesn’t typically show. Instead, they debuted their Fall/Winter 2025 collection in Paris in January.
“I love them,” Emma says of Jacquemus. “I feel like they know how to do elegant classics with a creative twist, which is what I feel like what I’m always looking for, especially when it comes to staples.” For the night, she wore a black spaghetti-strap dress with an A-line neckline, layered with a floor-length veil of sheer silk.

The star of the ensemble, however, was her small Ovalo Bag, a folded shoulder purse made out of black calf leather. “This bag is my new obsession,” she says. “It looks like it could be vintage ’90s. I just love that they do elegant classic, but with a creative edge on it.”
Julia, meanwhile wore an oversized two-piece black menswear-inspired black blazer layered over a white button-up collared shirt with matching trousers.

“Central Park felt like the perfect place to celebrate the shared values of Veuve Clicquot and Simon Porte Jacquemus, a landmark in one of the most vibrant and creative cities in the world,” Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot, wrote in a statement.
From September 10-14, New Yorkers and visitors can continue the celebration with their own Le
Pique-Nique Sur L’Eau experience at the Central Park Boathouse and at premier locations across New
York City.
