‘Severance’ Star Britt Lower Wins Emmy Award for Lead Actress in a Drama

Britt Lower has won the Emmy Award for best actress in a drama series for “Severance” Season 2.

She beat out fellow nominees Kathy Bates (“Matlock”), Sharon Horgan (“Bad Sister”), Bella Ramsey (“The Last of Us”), and Keri Russell (“The Diplomat”) to win the category. This was Lower’s first Emmy nomination and first win.

“Severance” originally debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022 to immediate critical and popular acclaim, but fans were forced to wait three years for the second season, which bowed in January. The wait did little to dull enthusiasm, however. “Severance” was the most-nominated program at this year’s Emmys, pulling in 27 total nominations. Coming into Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards, the show had already picked up six wins at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards the weekend prior.

More to come…
