‘Law & Order’ Season 25 Sets Release Date on NBC

Law & Order Thursday nights are so back. The Dick Wolf police procedurals return to NBC September 26. Law & Order will air alongside spin-offs Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as well as a first-time broadcast for Season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime, which initially aired exclusively on Peacock. Law & Order returns for a historic 25th season with Tony Goldwyn, Reid Scott, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi, and Maura Tierney all expected to return. Not returning is Mechad Brooks, who played Detective Jalen Shaw. Season 24 left fans with a bombshell for Halevi’s ADA Samantha Maroun as well as a crossroads for her and Dancy’s ADA Nolan Price. Now, the pair have been spotted on set with production beginning last week.

Dick Wolf’s Crime Dramas Face Shake-Up After Shake-Up

Across several networks, Wolf has created multiple universes surrounding federal, state, and city agencies. With Law & Order, Brooks looks to be exiting ahead of the 25th Season, and its unclear if a new cast member will be brought in or if the cast is slimming in numbers. Brooks was brought in to replace Anthony Anderson’s Detective Kevin Bernard. Within the last month, Chicago Fire announced that Michael Bradway‘s Jack Damon will not be returning for Season 14. Jake Lockett and Daniel Kyri were previously announced to be leaving the series. It was also recently announced that Toya Turner‘s Officer Kiana Cook wouldn’t be returning to Chicago P.D. Season 13. The show has since cast Arienne Mandi as Naomi Kerr.

As for other shows within the Law & Order universe specifically, SVU is experiences shifts both behind-the-scenes and on-camera. Earlier this year, it was announced that Juliana Aiden Martinez and Octavio Pisano will both not be a part of the show’s 27th Season, though it’s since been confirmed that Pisano will be present for the series premiere. Aimé Donna Kelly, who plays Captain Renee Curry, and Kelli Giddish, who plays Sgt. Amanda Rollins are now series regulars (with Giddish being re-upped after three seasons). Behind the scenes, David Graziano exited as showrunner with former writer and executive producer for the show, Michele Fazekas taking over, giving the show its first female showrunner. Julie Martin and Norberto Barba are also exiting the writer’s room, with Barba expecting to stay on as a director.

You can watch past episodes of Law & Order now on Peacock. Stay with Collider for the latest updates.
