GloRilla and T-Pain to Receive Special Honors at BMI R&B Hip-Hop Awards


GloRilla and T-Pain are set to receive special honors at 2025 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, which will be held on Aug. 5 in Los Angeles.

T-Pain will receive the BMI President’s Award in recognition of his career, marked by a catalog of hit songs — including “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’)”, “Bartender,” “I’m Sprung,” and “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper,” among others — that have resonated across generations and connected with audiences around the world. In addition, GloRilla will be presented with the BMI Impact Award for her breakthrough in music.

Throughout the evening, BMI will also salute the songwriters, producers and music publishers of the past year’s 35 most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs from BMI’s repertoire of over 22 million musical works. The BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Songwriter, Song, Producer, and Publisher of the Year plus the year’s Top Producers will also be named during the ceremony.

T-Pain continues to shine even beyond music as a Twitch streamer and is head of his own Nappy Boy Entertainment, Nappy Boy Automotive, Nappy Boy Gaming and Nappy Boy Dranks, is chief strategy officer for the Global Gaming League.

In receiving the BMI President’s Award, T-Pain joins previous recipients including Benny Blanco, Luis Fonsi, Noel Gallagher and Ellie Goulding, to name a few.

After achieving success with her breakout single “FNF (Let’s Go)” in 2022, GloRilla went on to release four Hot 100 top 30 hit songs, including “Yeah Glo!,” “Whatchu Kno About Me,” “TGIF,” and “Wanna Be” with Megan Thee Stallion. GloRilla has received two BMI Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, including best rap performance in 2022 and 2024 with “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Yeah Glo!,” respectively.

In receiving this honor, GloRilla joins previous BMI Impact Award recipients, Tito Double P, Ice Spice, Edgar Barrera, Arlo Parks, RAYE, P2J and Tems, among others.
