Kylie Jenner's First Acting Role Is In Charli XCX's Film, And People Have Mixed Reactions

Kylie Jenner's Acting Debut In Charli XCX's Film

The internet can't stop talking about the Kylie Cosmetics founder and reality TV star being a part of A24's The Moment, a film "based on an original idea" from Charli XCX.

On Oct. 9, Charli shared a visually polarizing teaser with a super-heavy strobe effect reminiscent of a Gaspar Noé opening credits sequence. Warning: The teaser video has strobbing effects for people who may experience seizures.

The teaser was set to Icona Pop's 2013 hit, "I Love It," and revealed the epic cast, which includes Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Arielle Dombasle, Jamie Demetriou, Rish Shah, Rachel Sennott, and Alexander Skarsgård.

The Moment is said to follow a rising pop star played by Charli XCX, navigating "the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena-tour debut," according to Deadline. Charli is teaming up with director Aiden Zamiri (director of the music videos for Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather" and Charli's "360"). Aiden co-wrote the project with Bertie Brandes.

The internet was abuzz with excitement over the eye-popping teaser.

But the name in the cast lineup that has everybody's heads ringing is — Kylie.

When the internet caught wind that the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan is part of the movie, they had a lot to say about it.

Some people had to do a double-take when they saw Kylie's name included:

Some people weren't interested in her being included in the movie at all:

And other people were stoked that The Kardashians star was part of the cast:

Even Timothée Chalamet apparently showed some love for Kylie's acting debut, which makes all the sense considering he's collaborated with the director Aiden on that trippy Cash App commercial.

For me, Kylie's inclusion in the movie is a major payoff for the day ones of Charli XCX. Fans of the "Everything is Romantic" singer might remember what Charli tweeted about Kylie years ago, and now it's becoming a reality.

It's not too late to make sure Kylie's on that soundtrack for The Moment. I wonder how everybody would feel about that?
