‘Powers’ Comic Book Creators Launch New Dark Horse Series ‘Powers 25’ (EXCLUSIVE)
“Powers” comic book creators Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming are teaming up with Dark Horse Comics to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic series with a new project: “Powers 25.”
Like the original “Powers,” “Powers 25” follows detectives and crime fighters assigned to the “powers” special cases in a world where superheroes exist.
Per Dark Horse’s description for “Powers 25,” “This new tale is a fun, dangerous, adult look at a world of heroes through the eyes of special homicide officer Detective Kutter and her brand-new partner, and the first power to ever make the powers division, Moebius Moon. Under the watchful eyes of legendary Captains Deena Pilgrim and Enki Sunrise, the new detectives run through a minefield of all-new dangers. A new unsolvable powers murder has Kutter and Moon questioning EVERYTHING about the world and their place in it.”

Launching in September 2025, the 12-issue ongoing series is written by Bendis (“Daredevil,” “Masterpiece,” “Ultimate Spider-Man”), illustrated by Oeming (“Murder Inc.,” “Blue Book,” “William of Newbury”), colored by Nick Filardi (“The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion,” “Deadpool 2099”), and lettered by Joshua Reed (“Where Monsters Lie,” “Joy Operations”).
Each issue of “Powers 25” will feature new art from Dark Horse creators including Mike Mignola (“Hellboy”), Stan Sakai (“Usagi Yojimbo”), David Mack (“Kabuki”), Scott Hepburn (“Minor Threats”), Eric Powell (“The Goon”), Jill Thompson (“Beasts of Burden”), and more to be revealed at a later date. The first issue will include cover art by Oeming, Mignola, Mack, and David Marquez (“Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man”).
The first issue of “Powers 25” will be released Sept. 10 and is now available to preorder.
“Brian and Michael’s work on ‘Powers’ has been groundbreaking since its debut in 2000,” Dark Horse Comics founder Mike Richardson said. “We are thrilled to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a new series fans will love. I can’t wait to show fans these incredible stories from two of the best creators in comics today.”
