Growing up, I rarely stopped to think about who exactly came up with stories of some of my favorite shows. As I’ve gotten older, my love of film and television has expanded greatly, along with my curiosity about the names behind titles like director and creator. Recent hits like Sinners and Paradise have made me wonder if many people know that some of our favorite media are led by Black creatives. Let’s take a look at 13 television shows and films by Black creators.
