Tyler Perry Confirms ‘Why Did I Get Married 3’ and Teases Original Cast’s Return
Tyler Perry is asking, “Why did I get married again?”
To clarify, the movie mogul isn’t actually wed, but he’s finished the script for the long-awaited third movie in the “Why Did I Get Married?” franchise, which has been rumored to continue in recent years.
On Wednesday, Perry posted the cover page of the “table draft” version of the script for the movie, seemingly titled “Why Did I Get Married Again?” with the caption “I’m just gonna sit this right here!” He also conspicuously tagged the franchise’s main cast: Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker, Jill Scott and Janet Jackson.
The news marks a change in course for Perry, who, last December, shut down rumors of a threequel.
“I don’t think so,” Perry told Sherri Shepherd on her talk show when she asked for a status update on the project. “I want to, but it’s a lot of logistics to try to get it together, so hopefully we can pull it together, but we’ll see … Everybody’s got things going on, so timing would have to fall in place and then everything else would have to fall in place.”
