Will There Be A “Weapons” Sequel? Director Zach Cregger Has His Say

Zach Cregger’s new film Weapons arrived in cinemas last week – and is already on course to become one of the year’s most talked-about horror movies.

The Barbarian director’s latest big-screen offering centres around a small US town where every child in one elementary school class (except one, that is!) woke up at the same time one morning and disappeared into the darkness, and the impact of the mysterious incident on the local community.

Fans of Weapons have already praised the film for its many twists and turns, the performances from its star-studded cast and the sense of dread that Zach helps create over the course of the movie.

Naturally, speculation has already begun about whether a follow-up could be on the cards.

During a recent interview with Zach, Variety asked if he’d consider “working on another story set in this world” – to which he responded that it’s something that “definitely” could be in the works.

He began: “I’ve actually… it’s funny you asked that. I can’t help it: I have another idea for something in this world that I’m kind of excited about.”
