T&C Culture Watch: An Avedon Show Opens at the Gagosian Beverly Hills
Where are we going?
Marilyn Monroe. Truman Capote. Audrey Hepburn. Certain Richard Avedon portraits are legendary. Others have rarely been seen. Both kinds will be on view at Gagosian Beverly Hills in “Richard Avedon: Hollywood,” with more than 120 photographs of the actors, directors, and cultural figures who shaped Tinseltown—and all the mythology surrounding it. What are we wearing?
Maybe Marilyn wouldn’t have been so famously late to set if she had had one of these. Like most top-line perpetual calendars, this Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle tracks the exact date and moon phase (leap years included), except the mechanism is brilliantly contained in an ultra-thin silhouette. It’s then topped off with a sprinkle of stardust (also known as diamonds).
